It’s been a long journey.
Thursday, May 16th
On May 16th, we arrived at our destination with our van loaded with sets and costumes for the debut of the new theatrical project: Dimore Altrove. Lyselène welcomed us with warmth and joy at her beautiful home in a quiet village near Perpignan, where she and her partner Bruno generously hosted us and our group of thirteen young actors.
Friday, May 17th
Set-up and rehearsals. Giuliano, our set designer, and all the actors quickly adapted the staging and the show to the new space… We’re ready!
Saturday, May 18th
Finally, our show lives the spaces of “à centmètres du centre du monde“, the Perpignan Contemporary Art Centre, located 100 meters from the station Salvador Dali described as “the cosmic centre of the universe.” Hence its poetic name: “A hundred meters from the centre of the world.” The building is a renovated former warehouse in which ancient wooden beams blend with glass and metal, creating a large exhibition area of 1400 m², where large volumes and more intimate spaces create an interesting play of levels. In this beautiful place, in a joyful atmosphere of curiosity and expectation, we had the privilege of presenting “Follow the White Rabbit”.
After the show, it was exciting and gratifying to meet and engage with an incredibly warm and “familiar” audience.
Sunday, May 19th
We had a relaxing day exploring the area, visiting a flea market and enjoying Catalan “prosecco” and tortillas in the evening, for an aperitif offered by Lyselène and her friend Sophie, to celebrate and say goodbye. It was an essential and lovely evening, an opportunity to get to know each other better, talk about future projects, and… plan to return in the fall with a new show.
It’s been a long journey. It was an unforgettable experience.
